“La Milla del Arte”: the modern and contemporary art pop-up returns

15 to 20 October. Calle Villanueva, 16, 28006 Madrid

Madrid, 9 October 2024 – Under the title “La Milla del Arte” (The Art Mile), the pop-up show at the central Calle Villanueva, 16 (corner of Calle Serrano) will bring together iconic masterpieces by renowned figures such as Antoni Tàpies, Antonio Saura, Fernando Zóbel, Jaume Plensa, Eduardo Chillida, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso and many more.

The exhibition, once again organised by Aleseide Gallery and Galería de Arte Pilares, will be open for just five days, from 15 to 20 October. This immersive experience will allow visitors to admire and purchase unique pieces and limited editions, creating an unforgettable encounter with Spain’s artistic heritage and a unique opportunity in this emblematic location in Madrid.

The show not only pays homage to the transformative contributions of the great artistic masters but also highlights the vibrant contemporary art scene in Spain. Alongside works by established figures, the exhibition includes a space devoted to showcasing the exceptional talent of emerging artists who are rapidly gaining recognition in the art world.

More than a hundred paintings and sculptures, some of them on the market for the first time, will be of special interest to private buyers, collectors and private institutions. The exhibition will also pay tribute to the veteran artist José Leal (1941), with a space devoted to his career of more than 50 years in sculpture.

In the words of Nacho Viguera, the show’s promoter: “After the success of the first edition, we have put our heart and soul into assembling this remarkable collection, working tirelessly once again to secure the finest works from renowned galleries. This exhibition presents an unrivalled opportunity for art lovers, collectors and institutions to acquire pieces of exceptional value and immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Spanish artistic expression.

In short, a unique occasion to see and acquire works by great masters and by other artists who have played a crucial role in renewing the contemporary Spanish art scene and who are currently in vogue.
