Painting on paper
Jesús Lozano Fuentes is an artist from Cuenca who combines art, spirituality and social commitment to help raise humanity’s awareness. He has held solo exhibitions in Barcelona, Madrid and above all Cuenca, where his artistic home is the Antonio Saura Foundation.
His early works show an unavoidable tendency towards horror vacui, gradually evolving towards simpler forms related to minimalism and Zen philosophy. As he himself says: “I have freed myself from a great deal of psychological weight, from obsessive compositions, and arrived at simpler drawings, essentially circles and stains. What I want to express, and even what I do not, is condensed into gestures which, although they point to emptiness, are the very opposite of vacuity”.
