A work from the series “Torciendo la recta”, devoted to the connections between the world of bullfighting and the art world, within the Spanish painting tradition. Bullfighting has always been said to be a difficult subject, and indeed the great painters, from Goya and Picasso to Barceló, by way of Bonifacio, Saura and Barjola, have all tackled it.

In this piece we can also see how the elements refer back to Palaeolithic cave art, where the bestial, ritual and the brutal delicacy of the cave intertwine, revealing the intrinsic bond between human beings and nature.
