Ángel Pintado Sevilla

Tomelloso, Ciudad Real, 1955

Ángel Pintado Sevilla is an essentially self-taught painter whose career has developed within a strongly personal figurative style. Born in Tomelloso, his artistic sensibility is linked to the painting tradition of La Mancha and particularly to the work of Francisco Carretero, Antonio López Torres and Antonio López, references that helped shape his way of looking at landscape, everyday objects and light.

At the age of twenty-five he decided to devote himself fully to painting, and has since produced a body of work centred on the study of reality through meticulous technique and special attention to the qualities of light. Still lifes, interiors, landscapes and everyday scenes take on a poetic dimension in his painting, where direct observation is combined with a remarkable atmospheric sensitivity.

His work, held in private collections in Spain and abroad, represents a renewed continuation of the Spanish figurative tradition: serene, rigorous painting deeply rooted in visual experience.
